Replacing the front brake discs and pads on a Syncro

Post by Winchweight »

Hi, I was going to overhaul the pads and replace the discs on the front of our Syncro this week, but have just realised that the bearings are in the centre. As a result I may now have to delay for a few days. But having now read and watched loads of info on the web, I haven't found any Syncro specific info. Is there any difference between 2wd and 4wd?

Ordered the discs from BW so spotted that thanks. I'm thinking more about removing and refitting processes.

Did mine about 4yrs ago & can't recall any drama. Seem to remember it was quite straightforward & completed both sides in a morning :)

The biggest problem is pushing the piston in ( bits of wood and tyre levers )

Great thanks. I'll be using a G clamp and some ply wood.

IME, depending on the state of the existing discs, a club-hammer and/or angle-grinder may be useful to get them off the hubs.
