Anyone know if later diesel bars will fit an early diesel (CS) that appears to have a quite different design than later bars ?

Nope
the engine is positioned differently on the early diesels pre 83 as they use the Aircooled 091 gearbox which is shorter and the vans have longer driveshafts as the box is further forward in the van

Aiden could you possibly identify these engine bars:

They are on my very early MK1 gti conversion and I am concerned that when I fit my new AGG engine and Wolfie exhaust system the exhaust my foul them as they are non standard.

The mount on the OS also seems very strange so no idea where to replace this if I need to.

There’s also late series comfort bars fitted with rubber bushes at the front chassis mount non some diesels (Caravelles) ?
