Idle control valve (Sits on top of engine) and idle speed controller ( little black box hiding behind offside rear light cluster).

Hello Mr Bean,
Will likely be stripping out my fuel injection system over the next couple of weeks...weather permitting
It will be for sale shortly on here. Either as a complete package or parts as needed.
Any use to you?
Regards
Stuart

Thanks for that response Stuart. I have just managed to acquire both items thank you but I would definitely be interested in a set of injectors. To be honest I am constantly concerned about the frailty/reliability/bafflement of this ancient injection system so I could be interested in the complete package so maybe let me know when you get it out.

BTW I have often though about a carb setup but I along with idling problems and an intermittent ECU my major breakdowns have been engine and gearbox. Is this the way you are going?

Best regards
Ken

Injection is much nicer than carb on petrol
for lpg it makes no difference

Im going LPG shortly and would feel more comfortable with carb setup than the Digijet system. I know my way round carbs. Ive owned two previous campers with carb/lpg. Theyve both been 100% reliable and as l try to do all my own maintenance, mechanical, for me, is more convenient than electrical. Plus l have 90% of the carb system nearly ready to swap over in my loft from previous bits and pieces.
However, the above aside, when the Digijet is going properly (85% of the time) it is silky smooth and a joy to drive. I did 350 miles towing a folding cara van in mid Sept and it cut out about 10 times. Always restart immediately. But, for restarting, sliding auto lever from D to N when rolling along hooked to a 700kg cara van and negotiating a roundabout without PAS (its far heavier than standard steering) is an accident in waiting.

Except carb manifold is heated (to evaporate petrol), reducing volumetric efficiency and therefore lowering power output. For this reason when running on LPG a cooler air intake is better.

Also injection systems start on petrol every time, then switch smoothly to LPG on first blip of the throttle. This keeps the petrol system working by flushing fresh fuel round each start-up, which is reassuring. A lot of people running carbs can get complacent and omit to change over to petrol regularly (if ever). Then when they need to use petrol (eg can't find LPG), it can give problems leaving them struggling or stranded.

Only heated for a short while until the thermoswitch turns it off. :D

Only electically heated for a short while until the thermoswitch turns it off, and the hot coolant flow takes over the job. :D

Fixed that for you.
You're welcome :D

mmm yes forgot about that :rofl

I guess as I run on LPG 99% of the time I could reroute the manifold water circuit easy enough.

I thought of adding a bypass circuit with an electrical T valve to switch when changing fuels. Best of both worlds! Don't forget you still need hot coolant through the choke housing...
