Rubber Boot for Slave Cylinder

Postby Snowmark » 14 Nov 2017, 17:40

I fitted a new clutch slave cylinder last year and the rubber boot covering the push rod is completely shot!

Anyone got an old cylinder with a decent rubber sitting around?

Many thanks,
Mark

Thanks Itchy - yep, will be a last resort.
Only fitted the new one as it came in a job load of parts - wish I hadn't bothered!

Same thing happened to me this year, not even 12 months old and it was totally goosed. At least it's easier to quickly change the boot than the slave.

HeHe, if it aint broke don't fix it, lots of new parts may look shiny but the origional rusty part of 30 years will often out live them.

That kit from JK is over £10 - you can get the Alternative Brand cylinder from BW for £11......know which one I'll go for!

I repaired my old cylinder with ERT brand kit a few years ago. No signs of wear yet.
