Ok, I'm trying to get it all placed in advance of picking up tools.

...and its gone to a new home.
I have left the 5-pot bus scene and I won't be coming back.
Better to look back fondly on the good times I reckon.
Onwards!

Wish I would of found this thread before I bought my 2.6 bus, who would have guessed they’re such a pain to source parts for!!

I’ve managed to source the correct clutch though.

Had to modify a Audi 200 exhaust manifold and had a stainless exhaust made up for it. It gets even worse though. Some schmuck has fitted a mega squirt ECU and had it mapped by the incompetent. I’ve owned it for 2 months now and it’s still not road legal. 2nd MOT next week and it’s supposed to be my daily driver. I’ve been commuting in my cheetah which is great fun but limited to 50MPH.

I’ve also replaced the AC compressor at a pretty sum. Every part on these is more or less a SA only part. I’ve also discovered most of the parts listed for this bus by brickwerks are not fit for purpose. Nothing has been easy with this bus. I regret not buying a European bus....

Good luck with it, access to ETKA is essential for parts cross-referencing!
Sorry to hear that you have had so much parts aggro with SA parts from Brickwerks.
What year is your Microbus?

Did you think to tell Brickwerks?
Quite happy to help find parts if we're asked but by the sounds of it your van has been bastardised so we may have sent the right thing but your van doesn't have on what it should have on.

Simon I’ll send you an email....tbh I just hadn’t got round to it. I’m not slating brickwerks by any means. Far from it. Have total respect for what you offer the community and apart from a few of these pesky SA parts have served me well. I’d rather assist in perfecting your service then to bitch about it, that was not my intent.

It’s a 1996 and is bone stick apart from the horrible tubular manifold which is now gone. Turns out the Audi one I bought is the same part the bus left the factory with.

Is there a free online source for ETKA?
