Hi - struggling a bit and wondered if I could get a few opinions on this please?
Coolant hose split the other week. It's shot to pieces generally like an old bike tyre inner tube.
The van is T25 transporter from 1986 and it has a 1.9 TD AAZ diesel engine in it.
The spec for the van says 16mm send/return hose for coolant.
I bought the hose and have spent good long while beating, heating and stretching the end to fit on the engine outlet (and eventually got it on), but something just tells me that the outlet needs a hose at least 5 or 6 mm bigger .
Down at the radiator end it seems about right.
What do you do if the engine conversion has coolant fitting that is bigger than van spec? Just size up larger and go with that, or force the hose on as I have done ?
Thanks in advance for any thoughts

That link is music to my ears (eyes?). Thank you, much appreciated!
And that connector at the bottom right of that page will be invaluable too.
