Heater doesn't go fully cold after Subaru transplant

Post by Tinium »

I've noticed since swapping the WBX for Subaru, once the engine's up to temp that the cab heater never goes fully cold, even with the lever fully left - it always is blowing slightly warm. Not too bad at the moment, but when summer finally roles round, probably not going to be the best! Have swapped the heater valve and checked the cable, but whilst it's slightly improved, hasn't fully solved the problem. Thinking of getting /another/ valve and trying again, but anyone else got any bright ideas before I do? :D Thanks!

if the valve isn't stopping the heater matrix from getting hot then it's down to the way it's plumbed in, send and return have been reversed

Hi

Did you get the heater by pass valve (H section) from RJES and if so where did you splice it in - near or far from the heater matrix ?

Its not actually a valve but an H made of tubing that allows the coolant to flow back down the return pipe from the heater matrix when the temperature control valve is set to cold.

Visit the RJES website .....and look at the cooling system diagrams etc in the conversion details section of his website, and it'll make more sense

:ok
