Alternative gearbox

Post by batesy44 »

What's people experiences with a4/ Passat gearboxes?
Dose it actually work upside down?
How dose the linkage work?
What's the differences with flange sizes?

I'm just playing with ideas, would like to do a pd conversion with a 6 speed one day.
But also while my dg is still going well I'm thinking of just changing the box to lower the revs on long runs while retaining some of the originality.

Cheers. Sam.

The DG was designed to sing at 4000rpm all day long on a light throttle. They don't have the torque to pull a tall 6th and you will be forever changing gear.
Not sure that anyone makes a conversion plate for wbx to inverted Audi transaxle anyway?
