Been a bit of shuffling going on, that locating hole looks more than a bit big

The pulley end bearing bore (4th from the flywheel) has a wear ridge in the middle that I can feel easily. It is worn oversize.
This wont be fixed in five minutes.

Just like me with WBX then There doesn't seem to be a great deal of difference in design though, haven't compared journal dimensions etc
I suspect the job will take as long as it needs to source suitable components

I am now homing in on suitable oversize case bearings, all thanks to a US contact. I'll have to buy two Type 1 sets and another Type 4 set just for the rear main, but it can be done.

This old thing has led a life alright. I suspect that it was re-cased at some time.
Turned my attention to the wiring loom, while waiting for the over/under size bearings to arrive from the USA.
Its a nightmare.
Appear to have two looms: one is recent (MS?) and accepts the DJ-type dizzy, the other is original Oettinger but has no dizzy plug and neither connect to the mystery VR6/Corrado throttle!

I was sent some photos that helped me identify the loom connections (because everything was unplugged when I bought the engine)
Its basically a DJ Digijet system, but with lambda feedback for mixture adjustment (not Digifant which can also adjust the ignition timing) and no idle stabilizer unit to go wrong it would seem
By comparing the loom to a DJ one I have discovered that the Digifant-style distributor plug has indeed been cut off (grrr!) and the mystery Japanese-looking plug is probably an ignition immobilizer connection.
One of the lambda wires (single green with yellow plug) appears to have been connected to an earth inside the ecu plug, but the reason is unclear.
This terminal has also been pulled from the ecu plug, but I dont yet know the pinouts for the KEN ecu...
The other two-wire plug has brown (may also have a trace) and black. I am guessing its lambda as its located in the correct area.
The big news is that I have been offered the correct wbx6 throttle body from a contact in Germany. Not exactly cheap, but I couldn't make one for the price, so on balance its good value

Bearings have arrived, so I can now think about having the case line-bored and the crank ground.
Also, replacement (good, used) water jacket seals. But made by Brüss, not Goetze like the originals. Curious...

That's what I would have thought too - ignition cut off at 5400 rpm (soft or hard, don't know)

Seems reasonable. Notice also the large chip is marked "wbx 3.2 lambda"
The fuel pump feed plug is also unfamiliar to me i.e. the blades are parallel, not at 90 degrees to each other.
Is this an automatic detail?
