Re: The T3200E thread
I simply pm'd Andy and we've discussed the job, timescale etc. I have some advance planning and checks to perform before sending the loom to him.

Re: The T3200E thread
Its just dawned on me that the Oetti big brake package is unlikely to fit inside a 15" wheel, of which I have a choice of nice 5-wheel sets...
So I might well be up for an SA swap if anyone's up for it, once I know a little more and have mocked up the bits to confirm the disc size.

Re: The T3200E thread
But then my SA Starbursts, the ARC's and my Mefros (with MT's) will all have to be changed
I'd rather have smaller brakes, they are more than adequate, when vented.

Re: The T3200E thread
Are you sure they won't fit inside the 15" Mefros ?
more space in those than the 16" merc alloys I tried.

Alloys will get the most amount of use with road-oriented tyres, so that's the baseline.

Re: The T3200E thread
Think that I have had a result with the Oettinger front brakes

Re: The T3200E thread
How to use a CNC milling machine to get working dimensions, in order to get camshaft blanks "semi-finished" before they go off to the cam grinders:
Mount a new cam on the indexer, mount a lifter on a mandrel in a milling chuck, find the centreline of the camshaft, find maximum lift, index round in 5 degree steps and touch on each time, recording the figures.
This is all for the 2-off wbx6 cams (even though that's actually a 4 cylinder 2.5 cam, but the same hydro profile will be used) and a 1mm machining allowance will be applied to the profile.
This way, the cam grinders wont have loads to program or carve off because its already been done for them!

Re: The T3200E thread
She's got to wait a little longer...now that the case has been line-bored, this length of 25mm silver steel (ground stock) will be a sort of "false camshaft" when sat in new bearings in the case, so that I can accurately gauge the running centres and give this information to the gear cutters, who will be making me a new cam gear.
I can't just tell them that it's a -3

Re: The T3200E thread
New flywheels made by JP are steel, not iron! Absolute bargain, integral ring gear but who has ever changed one?
No sign of any balancing on this one, I'll still get it checked once on the crank.
