Tacho conversion gadget

Post by silverbullet »

Bought this from the USA on ebay, a neat little thing for converting just about any engine's spark pulse output to suit any tacho.

Ideal for when fitting a 5 or 6 cylinder engine into your van, without having to get the tacho circuit board reworked ;)Image

Hehe - none taken! It's been a bit 'niche'.

What I did find out though is that the trim pot on the tacho circuit board has quite a bit of adjustment. I wouldn't be surprised to find that the standard 4-cylinder tacho can be adjusted to show 20% or 33% fewer rpm, to suit a 5- or 6-cylinder engine. It would need a means to check the adjustment though.
