In fairness, there’s not much forcing involved. It bolts together pretty well, might be torsion or weight on the rubber mounts though that differs from normal

With mine in particular, it’s a sort of hybrid. Well, a mishmash of all sorts I think!

I’ve ordered the lot from Brickwerks, from the manifold back. I certainly don’t have 3 rubber mounts, just the 1 either side, doubt that will help.

Interesting point about using the 1Y manifold. I’m not sure which one I have. Are they easily distinguishable?

I looked, exhaust is post a flexi section, no obvious sign of stress points.

That’s just reminded me, my mate looked at my exhaust a while ago, said a flexi may help the issue.

1y manifold looks completely different - has an egr from memory

My 1Y has the 1Z exhaust manifold and egr - the bottom one: (+ the 1Y inlet manifold)

The manifold nuts were carefully sliced and knocked off allowing the studs to be saved. We bent the down pipe slightly which meant it matched up to the silencer without too much strain on the mounts. I used the more expensive stronger mount on the off side. Time will tell, however, it’s certainly quieter and I’ve maybe even gained 1 or 2 HP.
