Temperature under reading since AEF conversion

Post by matt brighton »

Hi

Since replacing my old CS engine with a Skoda Felecia 1.9 AEF the temp gauge barely moves

Are the senders different or maybe I have wired it to the wrong sender ?

Thanks

Matt

Run it to normal engine temperature and measure the sender terminal to chassis resistance. To be compatible with the T25 reading should be around 100 to 120 ohms. Alternatively, remove the sender and measure the resistance when placed in boiling water ror a few minutes , reading should be- 90 - 100 ohms.

Check wiring by earthing the cable that goes to the sender - guage should go full scale.

The original sensors in my 1Y when I got it were the wrong resistance so had to replace the outlet spigot with a new one to take the original JX/CS sensors.(different sizes)

Thank you both for the replies -

I will have a tinker tomorrow whilst replacing the CV joint and tracing a fault on the hi beam wiring.

All the best

Matt
