AWX 1.9 130 red i install?

Post by grunterNI »

Has anyone fitted a 5 speed tdi AWX series engine into their T25 or better still know if it is feasible? Or perhaps know of any firms who have done similar conversions?

I have the chance of a 2005 Passat B5.5 1.9 red i gratis and am loathed to turn it down if I can use the engine and box. Also the heated leather seats would be a nice bonus

Cheers for any info :D

Got a pd130 on a flipped 5 speed and it had all the power I need and a fair bit spare.

Brilliant racebiz, thanks for your reply :ok

Can I pick your brain?

What engine were you originally running in your camper, did you fit the PD engine with its 5 speed box and was the conversion reasonably straight forward?
If so what parts are needed to flip the gearbox and where did you get the parts?
Any problems or difficulties I need to watch out for when installing the PD? Do you happen to have any photos of your conversion I could use for guidance?

Thanks again for replying and any further info greatly appreciated
:D

I am also looking to replace my 1.6D with an AWX (1.9 TDI PD) from a Passat I have been given. At the moment I am looking at what is needed to ensure the gearing is corect. I have looked at the option of changing the Ring & Pinion, however, this seems very costly. You speak of "flipping" a standard gear box, which sounds like a good idea as it will be geared for that engine. Is this easy to do? What is needed to do it?

PD electrics not a problem. The ECU can be immo-off'ed, and if you do want to keep the Passat clocks that's also an option. Some of the late Passat clocks have miles-to-empty on the computer, which is really nice to have.
