JX/ AAZ Rocker cover / oil breather leak

Post by wolfbus.uk »

Hi ive done about a thousand miles on new AAZ engine.
It's leaking a little oil from the rocker cover/top breather area. We fitted a new seal during engine change anyone know why this could be happening and how I might remedy it. My mechanic has suggested welding a short vertical pipe onto rocker cover to elevate breather an inch or two he thinks that might remedy problem. But I'm confused should we have that much oil sloshing up there anyway?
Any help much appreciated

Has it been overfilled? Oil capacity figure will be online somewhere to check, I'd guess at 4.5 litres. Don't rely on the dipstick, mine was wrong (on a 1Y) when i bought it and caused similar issue as i overfilled until I realised, simple enough to fill with correct amount then adjust/modify the dipstick to suit
