Subaru engines

Post by philmcC »

I have a 1.9 DG WB X engine in my autohomes komet. Goes very well though you have to change gears a bit going up steep hills. Thinking of the future I want to assemble a Subaru engine kit when the 1.9 DG dies. 2.5 Subaru engines seem very thin on the ground mostly with big mileages. What are the 2 L Subaru engines like?. There are a lot around at keen prices. philmcC

A lot more oomph than the 1.9, but you'll still be changing gears on hills of course (no getting away from being a 2tonne van). Overtaking on hills is suddenly an option though and is bags more enjoyable and relaxing too (less changing). I've not been in a 2.5 so don't know what that's like. Where are you located? Might be someone nearby you can go and have a look at.
