Garage for Subaru conversion in Manchester or North West?

Post by neal.andrews »

Hi guys

I'm struggling to find a garage or mechanic in or near(ish) Manchester to swap my 1.9DG for a Subaru EJ20 n/a.

Can anyone help with suggestions?

I've potentially sourced the engine.

It's already been fitted to a T25, so has all the conversion parts and is pretty much ready to go. Just needs an alternator and exhaust.

Cheers

Neal

if you have all the parts from a already converted van then id say do it yourself as you should be able to do most of it in a day or two :ok

I wish I could! :)

But I have no tools, zero knowledge and experience, or anywhere to do it other than on the roadside.

I've got a workshop in Poynton, not done a Subaru conversion yet but lots of experience of T2/T25, I've done work for a few people on thelatebay.
I've got a T25 panel van that I'm considering scoobying.
Would like to talk to you see if I can do anything for you!

Stef at Mac VW in Stretford does drive in/out subaru conversions.

He's always pretty busy though so you may need to wait a while before he could do it. Phone and ask him?

Thanks, dude.

Yeah Stef was recommended to me by Richard @ RJES.

I've tried him a couple of times, but I'm not getting through on the phone or getting responses to my emails, and I've now found somewhere that can help me out.

Cheers again, though. Appreciate it.

Hi Flakey, thanks for getting in touch.

I would have been really interested, but I'm in a rush to find somewhere, and after posting yesterday I got put in touch with a firm that I've already agreed a decent price with.

Not as local as you, but they are Subaru experts and have done a few T25 conversions, and they can start next week.

I'll be looking for a more local mechanic to work on the van in the future, though, if that's of interest to you?

Cheers again, Pal.
