Post by Jay68 »

I am looking at replacing my engine in my Syncro.
At present I have a AAZ 1.9td but am looking for something a little bigger.
Any suggestions ?

One may beg the question of Why?
And you don't offer any other information relating to gearbox or preferential fuel type.
It's all the little moments in life that make it a big adventure.

The reason why is that my family is growing by 2 and am looking at buying a trailer to tow. My 1.9 is ok on the flat but not very good on the hills. As mine is a 1987 Syncro and the original engine was a 1.6td it has the 4 speed gear box. I have been told that this can't be changed !! If this is incorrect then I would love to know.

Pop a AGN in :ok
Sounds like your AAZ isn't very healthy or has a lot of JX in it (pump, manifold, etc...), a good AAZ should go just fine and be able to tow a small trailer
