Changing V5 after engine conversion?

Post by bmouthboyo »

Hi guys,

As the title really.

When I bought my Autosleeper Trident 1983 8 years ago the V5 showed the original DG engine number and that it was classed as a PLG despite it being an Autosleeper conversion and now having a Golf Mk1 Gti DX Engine.

Do I need to get all this updated? If is it expensive to have the engine checked by a mechanic and signed off? Or can i do this myself?

Cheers

£20 for DVLA and whatever the headed paper and mechanic wants to charge you. I'm not sure if you HAVE to do it?
I would tell the insurance company though, as you're no doubt zipping around these days instead of following lorries in lane 1 ! ;)
