1.8 engine
hi guys i have just replaced my 1.6 ct engine with a 1.8 air cooled and fitted h40 carbs on it i have checked the timeing and all electric replaced gaskets with new ones but it still wont start there is fuel going to the carbs and when i pour fuel straight into carbs the engine starts and runs untill fuel is gone i have clean these carbs out so all jets are clear but still nothing the only thing i havent change is the fuel pump its still the origanal one that supplyed the 1.6 ct could this be my problem your help would be grateful .

You could be sucking air in through one of the fuel lines or your filter might be clogging up.

Is that the fuel Ines onto the carbs and the filter on the carbs

I'd guess under the bus, check all connections.

Don't know the carbs but presumably you can check for fuel in the float chambers.

yes there is fuel in float chambers and these are not flooding .
