Modified mine at the weekend....
Knocked the old 1Y dip stick out and then drilled/remed it out with a 8mm drill t make a sleeve...nice fit over the original, tapped it home and job done...
See a lot of people using mastic and araldite... this is much neater and easier

I haven't a clue what you're talking about but I'm intrigued.

Just silver solder/braze a tube onto the end of the 1Y tube, a lot quicker and you don't have to remove the 1Y tube.

Re: 1Y dip stick mod
Interesting post, i just knocked my 1Y dipstick out today. The 1Y dipstick is a mm or 2 bigger than the original.
The 1Y tube does seem to fit very securely so i may have a go at drilling it too?
I was wondering whether to use some strong filler and a rubber washer from brickwerks at first? This does sound better though, any pictures?
Cheers.

Re: 1Y dip stick mod
All that effort - it only took a minute to silver solder some copper tube onto the 1Y tube! Easiest job there is. Clean, flux, heat to red hot/ flux liquid and glassy and touch the silver solder on, job done. That JX/CS tube does look a little delicate towards the bottom if you are going to try to insert it into the 1Y tube. Mastic/ adhesive is not really the way forward.

Cheers Oldie, your work does look more straight forward but i think Rouge Troopers end result would look nicer. I would like to see a picture of his work, but it doesn't look like he's been online for over a year
