Can I ask where you sourced your header tank bracket from?

This project now abandoned. All AGG parts will be for sale soon.

I’ve not got another engine install in me. Who can fit me a 1.8T?

Still work in progress

I paid for a proper loom, still didnt start. Axeman came for a weekend, still didnt start. Axeman took leccy bits away and tried them on another AGG van - it all worked. Axeman and Silverbullet offered to come back for another weekend, Storm Denis cancelled first date, lockdown cancelled second date. Tested bits back from Axeman for me to throw on and fire it up, you'd think I'd have time to do this - oh no, I'm busier than ever working from home helping move a university to offsite working.

Dizzy OK we think and I have spares to swap out.
ECU tested OK, immo tested OK.
We have spark but no start.
We now suspect an iffy injection loom, so I have a tested spare from Axeman. Probably going to drop engine to swap this, as it's in a pig of a position to attempt insitu.

My 2 week summer holiday will likely be spent on this, as going away plans are in hold.

Blimey. What a ‘mare.
You can do injection rail loom in situ- just take off manaifold to rocker cover brackets. Is doable and saves sooooo much time.

Pretty much got spares of everything for looms if you need them.

It starts! Turns out it was a cruddy Meyle CPS from GSF. Swapped it for a JP one from BW and it fired up no problem.
Exhaust coming from Wolfy on Fb.
Waiting on BW having their air intake solution back in stock.
It might move this summer!

Considering all our collective head scratching, the CPS was the one thing that none of us had considered, but we would have got to it eventually.
Maybe?

just because something is new doesn't mean it isn't faulty, it happens more than you think, especially electrical, more so if not genuine part

I’m very peeved that for £100 an auto-electrician told me the CPS was fine and the ECU was faulty, and a ECU testing business for another £100 told me the ECU was a write-off as the tracks had lifted from the PCB.
This sent me down nearly a year of head scratching and chasing hares unnecessarily.

Both talking out of their arses!

Are we allowed to swear on the new forum?

Oh dear! I wish I'd read this thread sooner, as I've had experience of a failed CPS, and might have pointed you that way had I known of your troubles. I know, hindsight is always 20/20
I can, however, vouch for Wolfy's exhausts, having fitted a couple. My only caveat would be that it's a tad loud for my liking, but the customers liked them!

Thank you, but don’t beat yourself up. Since 2018 the gory details have been on Fb.
Wolfy has new, quieter exhaust. I’m hoping it lives up to the promise as I like quiet. I could’ve tried to cobble one together myself, but after 5 years I’m grabbing all chances to speed things up by buying in solutions instead of continued DIY.

Wolfie's new quiet one (the one with the original can) is not as quiet as I expected. I heard good things about his system that uses the Bandit can.
