2.0 agg on workbench, what should be replaced, serviced?

Post by MickeTJ »

Im about to start my wbx to Agg conversion.
I have taken the engine, ECU, and wires out of the donorcar.

Im about to assemble the parts from another donorengine (JX)
Is there any need-to-change parts on the agg engine I have to replace or change while I have the engine on the workbench?

Timingbelt and waterpump is a nobrainer i guess. But should i change oilpump any hard-to-get-to O-rings, gaskets and so on?

Im not doing the conversion for HP but for reliability and servicability.

Im working with ordinary diy tools in my own garage...

Donorcar:

Vw golf GT kombi (stationwagon) -1998
20000 km
3 owners
No known servicehistory but no visable oilleaks
VW T3 Syncro 1990 / 2.1 MV / ABS brakes / 2 Lockers - Hightop Multivan with kitchen
