Agg gti conversion, what airbox are you using?
There seems to be a few people converting to agg or gti engines at the moment.
What air boxes are everyone using?
Garyd's bible uses a 206 one but not sure of what year engine size etc.
Would the original golf one fit being lh lights?
Cheers.

At the moment I have a Hyundai Getz airbox sat in the battery tray, it's okay but the intake is quite small and may restrict the airflow (although the bus will do 170kmh).
I plan on fitting a Mazda 323F airbox in the left hand void, these filters get a good report on the German VW forums.
You have to slightly modify the LMM housing for clearance.

Do you know the size on the intake pipe? I'm thinking 76mm for some reason.

Off the top of my head no but 76mm feels about right.
I can't remember what year, I'll have a look this evening.

Titus
reviving this old thread - did you fit the airbox? i have taken a look at the void in front of the left hand rear light - it looks doable but how do you change the air filter once it is in situ? Looks like you would have to remove the top of the engine.
aha - just found the answer on another forum.... it looks like you have moved on from the Mazda set up. I will keep researching.

Re: Agg gti conversion, what airbox are you using?
This set used the standard agg air filter to maf pipe which in the standard (as if it was in a golf) orientation so it picks up the crack case breather.

The same agg pipe is fitted to the dg air filter box and routs perfectly I have then used a 76mm peice of alloy tube (150mm long)and then a 76mm i/d silacone hose to join to the maf I have prepaired the old crank case vent spigot to accept the air temp sender
https://s.amsu.ng/wASDJkAe3GHN" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Finally because the converted van was a n/a diesel it came with a neat pre filter so the air box was connected to it via a section of 63 i/d silacone hose.
I am hoping for very low intake noises with this set up.
