Cushions, Foam, Coverings etc (now with pics)

Post by v-lux »

Anyone looking for some new cushions, coverings, or just foam for thier bed cushions, seats etc etc.

I would strongly recommend you give the Pluss organisation in Exeter a try.
I went to them a few days before my ferry sailing date to get some foam fir me and the missus to sleep on while we were away.

I ended up leaving the factory having placed an order for:
4x
1000mm x 500mm x 50mm foam cushions cut to size
All covered with a beauitiful thick grey automotive upholstery cloth, with non slip vinyl undersides and a zip in each cover.

All for the princely sum of £80

Im pretty sure that even if i had searched the country i wouldn't have been able to find the component parts for less than that, the fabric alone probably wouldve been that much.

Needless to say i was bowled over. I was even more bowled over when they called back later that afternoon to say that they had reassigned someone to another machine due to a break down, so my cushions were ready for delivery
Talk about service, it took them all of about 4hrs to have them made!!!

They are a great organisation who employ almost 90% disabled people in all aspects of the jobs they have available.
The large part of their business is making cushions and mattresses for disabled people.
They absolutely bent over backwards to try and make sure i got what i wanted, rather than the usual "that not part of our remit" kind of attitude. Genuinely nice people!! Highly recommended!!

Heres a link to their website: http://www.pluss.org.uk/index.php?id=1

request from pluss

it might be easier if you get any further enquiries to get them to email me direct, the website is fine, but it would be a quicker response to further customers. Email: pam.curtis@pluss.org.uk

One other thing, the non-slip vinyl is amazing.
When they said they would put it on, i thought 'what the hell, it cant hurt' but im pleased to say that im amazed by the stuff. It really does do what it says.
The cushions dont budge.

Well,
they have just got a £150 order from me......5 cushions - 2 for the rnr bed, the one for the boot, and 2 for the roof matress. 4" cushions in a really firm foam for the downstairs, and 2" for the upstairs (can't get the 4" in :( )

All with the non-slip base!

Material supplied by me (found it on e-bay - will be sent straight to them - a fireproof material, 23 M bought for 48 quid) in a grey chequred pattern - looks great. Red piping around all seams to tie it in with the van too!

They are also going to do some loose covers in the same material for the front seats - I have just got to get a paper pattern together.

Hubby looking at a holiday bop in Exeter to get his van done professionally in the new year...

Thanks for the pointer, v-lux! Will put pictures up when I have them...

My cushions are on the way......getting excited

They are sending the seat covers up for me to put on the chairs and pin/mark in the correct place.....then I have to send them back so they can be made up properly!

Pam said that she has about 5 camper vans on the go now....not sure if all our club members though! But it has really taken off..... :D

Will put piccies up when they arrive!
