I think if you’re put off by a straight talking seller you with an old cheap van then you won’t end up
With a good one, look at all of the vans you can

When i got my second T25 I had just been across the country to Lytham St Anns to look at a couple of vans in a dealer. They looked OK in the pictures, tatty, dog eared wrecks in the metal. Complete waste of time, I got home and one had just gone up privately on Gumtree less than 10 miles from home. That's life I suppose

On this one what I would have done is pick the phone up and speak to the seller. So many people seem reluctant to do that these days, preferring to rely on messaging services. I can usually assess a seller within a minute, and there's no avoiding the direct questions......... Have a list ready

As someone said earlier, it’s Bhpdub selling it , he normally has a good rep with vans he sells , I think his yard based nearer Newark than mansfield
Nothing to do with me , although I’m happy to go look at it with James if need be if it can be arranged to suit

I wouldn’t buy one that had been recently resprayed from this seller.
What qualifies me to say this, you may ask - well I did just that 3 years ago.

Nope - I made my own mistake and have lived with it. All I try to do is make people more aware than I was 3 years ago.

The best thing anyone can do before buying one of our vans is read pretty much every section of this Forum, the Wiki and then ask questions.
I didn’t even know that Club8090 existed before I bought my van - I have paid for my ignorance

I got lucky.
No club80-90 for me either.
I bought an '86 'sleeper in 2004 no respray honest condition.
History up to '96 clearly used a lot, and loved a lot by the receipts.
15 years on and it's going to be with me for 15 more at least.

I would hate to have to buy a van now.
Good luck with your search.

I heard about 80-90 when looking for a van. Thought that I wanted a diesel camper, drove a homebrew hitop that was supposed to be a 1.9 turbo, it was gutless!
But the owner did tell me about the club.
So I ended up buying the "silver bullet" tintop with its sketchy early EJ22 conversion and so my T3 journey began...

I've literally driven from Mansfield to Newark today, if I'd known earlier I'd have tried to have a look at in the flesh.
