I assume the auction house was in on this. If not their 'experts' who presumably check to see that works are genuine and not fakes must have had something of an off day - however carefully hidden a shredder would be rather easy to spot in a frame!!!

Apparently, the person who won the auction is still going to pay for it! Makes the art a little more interesting I think!

And it's reported that it's verified genuine Banksy by pest control so worth a lot more now.

It's going to be the next trend, soon everybody will be buying self destroying presents for christmas just to see the look on peoples faces :rofl

I don't think I will ever understand the sense, logic, obsession or need to spend so much money on something which has practically no use.

If people have such amounts of disposable income maybe pumping it into their local economy would produce more wealth - rather than have it tied up in £10 worths of materials and shoved in a safe!!

I thought Banksy was a bit of a rebel - it should have burst into flames.

(rhymes with) anchors - the lot of them

The buyer had been referred to as a he earlier.

Gender and sex is not the same thing, a person could be male but could be of female gender (found this out the other day myself).
