I wonder how the new owner felt, as his expensive new possession was destroyed in front of his eyes. I'd have been pretty cheesed off, if it had been me. Unless he was 'in' on the whole thing, of course....

my guss is it was purchased to make money not to look at
it's probably worth more now but sell it again who knows what happens next

Banksy has posted a video which suggests that the shredder was added to the frame a couple of years ago... I'd love to know the backstory on that decision.

You can bet your bottom dollar that every Banksy painting currently hanging in a collection has been pulled off the wall and checked for similar devices. :mrgreen:

It is not destroyed ... it was Ye Olde shredder that left the 'picture' basically intact,not a cross-cut shredder that would make confetti out of it.

It's all a bit Emperor's New Clothes if you ask me.
