Motoring confession time

Postby silverbullet » 27 Sep 2018, 18:21

I bought a 2005 Citröen Berlingo van 1.9 HDi today

Needs a starter motor (bump starting fun!)

Good tyres, recent clutch, 11k since cambelt in 2014

£100 :DImageImage

I bought a pooper for one of the lads at work that cost £900 in a lot worse state than that!!! Good job jobbed. Not bad vans just can’t carry any weight.

I'll come clean, PO is a customer but even so, I still cant believe it myself!
The load space looks big enough to move four decent sized dogs in comfort, so that'll do me!
I hope the mem'sahib likes it :)

Its a dirt cheap runabout, nothing more.
The driver's seat is too soft! Needs a new backrest I think...

Motoring confession time

I confess to buying this 1990 Auto 1.6 Mk2 for £600. The bus will spank it, in the speed stakes but I kinda like the relaxed slow speed of it...maybe my age catching up on me! It’s a factory fresh, time capsule with 51k on the clock.

That could be my Grandma's old Mk2! Think it was a GL with sunroof and charcoal velour.

And with good reason! You only get long-term reliability by frequently throwing big money at them from new.
