Records (Remembered)

Postby kentishvanman » 07 Jan 2018, 17:30

With ref to the Vinyl records topic anyone remember there first record purchase.
Mine was Eddie Calvert, the man with the golden trumpet, playing Zambezi. Another early purchase was Nancy Whisky and Charles McDevitt Skiffle group playing Freight Train. Cost about 6/6d or 37.5p in kiddie currency. They were 78's by the way.

Nothing cool for me, it was the Jive Bunny album  Although I was only 10.

My first singles were the Comic Relief ones by Spitting Image and Cliff & The Young Ones (bought for me by Dad)

Unfortunately 'Two Little Boys' by Rolf Harris.. It was however bought for me by a relative. It doesn't get any better though as it was closely followed by 'I Love You Love' by Gary Glitter. Ah well...
