Self incriminating.

Postby kentishvanman » 05 Dec 2017, 15:56

Do motorcyclists who wear a camera, you can often see it on their helmet, realize that they are incriminating themselves by filming when they are zig-zagging across the double white lines or riding unnecessarily in an area of road marked with chevrons? Have noticed this on several occasions.
Just a thought.

Same applies to dashcams in vehicles especially where they are recording your speed along with any other mistake/mis-demeanor
Go pro footage on Mountain bikes being ridden where they should not be is not very clever either

A self incriminating post about dislike of motorcyclists?

It doesn't read that way to me. I am (or was) a motorcyclist, and entirely agree with the OP.
For me it's more a dislike of idiotic driving/riding/cycling, particularly when it endangers others. The cameras just evidence what we already knew.

I deplore that appalling standard of biking. Please load further clips so I can get more outraged :D

Funny thing that's the very first thing that came into my mind.

As a now lifetime rider of motorcycles I acknowledge that the ability of two wheelers to wend in their way through traffic mostly quite safely does drive some traffic bound car drivers absolutely ape poo. I say give them a break. After all if they don't do it safely

I tried a camera on my little 125 trailie. Bit boring really. Don't put it on my Speed Triple 955i. I recently saw a clip from a UK you tube poster who went out for a ride on his newly turbo charged FJ1200; speedo visible all the way.
Are we going on anything else?

I think some on here may be missing the point.its not about disliking bikers. If your going to break the law be it on a bike or in a car, don't be stupid and put up videos of yourself doing it.

There have been car drivers done for taking selfies at the wheel and posting on line too, sometimes the refle tion in their glasses proves they are driving

I'm all for taking risks it makes you feel alive, but when there is the slightest chance that you are going to endanger someone else then you become a first rate a_hole. Plenty of track days for people wanting speed. Or take up one of the many dangerous individual edrenelin sports on offer.

I wonder how long before dash cams become standard fitment in cars?
Like audio, sat nav and all the other once bolt on stuff that is now standard.

When most cars are recording then the worst drivers will inevitably get uploaded to You tube.

The second word of the post specifically mentioned `motorcyclists', no other road users were mentioned, seems to me to be the very point. Point reinforced by the following post?

Why is it often assumed nowadays that if a particular group is mentioned then they are being picked on.
My original post only mentioned 'two wheelers', of which I used to be one, because you can often see their cameras on the helmet.
I have seen car drivers carrying out the same actions but it is not so obvious as to whether they have a camera fitted. Some probably have so therefore they are also incriminating themselves.
There are good and bad in both riders and drivers but it is the riders whose camera is more obvious.
