We were down in Edinburgh in Feb and spotted a nice California two doors down from our hotel.
The same on turned up on Skye last night and I got chatting to the occupants, a friendly dutch couple who'd hired it from the owner.
It's a small world when you drive these vans. :lol:

Fantastic looking lime greenish tintop, with large " animal "sticker in back window, overtook me on my bike today in waterfall, nr Waterhouses.

What struck me was the reg, (D501 OHR) very similar to mine, (D470 OHR) both were registered in Swindon on 1st September 1986.
Both now living 600 miles north of Swindon, within 50 miles of each other. small world huh.


It looks very much like mine did (in photo approx 2006), when I first bought mine. Though mine doesn't look like that now, very abused and deteriorated!

Spotted a nice condition high-top Aircooled (Y reg) at our local supermarket, got chatting to the 93yo driver. (respect).
he wasn't a particular fan of it though, rust, rust, rust, sloppy gearshift, rust, maintenance costs, rust..... hahaha...

No pic as driving when spotted - but green tintop with big roof rack - Polizio on front - lush!!!
Just bumbling through life, now with a big black Greyhound to help fill the van....

Really nice grey and cream pop top wildcamping on the downs. Good timing as it’s inspired me to push on and get mine professionally resprayed
