Photobucket nightmare gets worse

Postby silverbullet » 15 Apr 2018, 18:54

Just logged in and my entire library is gone.
Nothing. No folders. Zero pics.

I don't know. Been meaning to grab anything important but, you know...life.
Probably only been a couple of months since I last logged in.

Mine are still there, though as the pictures are now hosted elsewhere, they are there just for annoyance (pb's not mine)

I was thinking of encouraging people to upload random pics to their pb account to the maximum capacity. If everyone did that just imagine how much extra load and space they would need on their servers.

Sweet revenge for breaking years of internet archives :?:

Just found this...has it been that long since I uploaded anything?
I can't find any advice on my situation i.e. suddenly finding my account empty without explanation.Image

I had thought that Photubucked was finished for those who didn't subscribe when they requested that some time ago. So when I failed to post an image on here I just took for granted that my albeit very few images would no longer be available to me although still in existence. Did you subscribe as requested?

I had taken it that payment was required for 3rd party hosting, not just archiving for personal use?
Just hoping that I still have the family & holiday pics stored on camera memory cards and an old phone...

My pictures seem to still all be on Photobucket although I've not subscribed or been logging on regularly. Having said that, I've only got a couple of hundred images on there. Since you're still able to access the account with the same login details then I'm guessing it's more likely that's it's a data-loss cockup on their part than a deliberate move to close your account.

Mine still works too, for example this post but I did pay £10 a year for advert free and so I assume it was that, I'm not paying the advert free again.

Definitely all gone. B#####rds!
Thankfully I had the family holidays backed up, might still have some others on the last phone but the battery wont take a charge...also got some on an old Olympus camera XD card but of course that is now a redundant format (although the works clunky pc has a HP printer with all the slots)

yeh I would never rely on an online storage service even if I paid for it.
I have two backup copies of everything on usb drives not connected to the laptop.

Anybody who hasn't done it now is the time to update your antivirus and take a backup.
