Really struggling to find a 15 amp DPDT switch that is able to open one connection but close the other. Do they exist?

Re: I want headlights like a Scandinavian...
I've travelled a lot in Scandinavia including Finland last Year. I guarantee you will not get stopped or fined if you don't put your lights on. The worst that will happen is that you may get flashed once or twice if you forget. I have a brightly coloured notice saying "LIGHTS" on the dash,...

Re: Fuel line shrinkage
I am utterly perplexed about this. We moved to Glasgow 6 months ago & have kept it in an old barn but at a bona fide caravan storage site. (it's a working farm but uses spare land to store caravans). Because of the move I've only just been able to get to the van so haven't really checked in on i...

Fuel line shrinkage
Picked the van up last week after been in storage for six months. Drove 50 meters & it stopped. I saw a trail of petrol behind the van so had a look underneath. The hard fuel line had detached itself from the flexible line on the return side of the petrol tank. Strangely there was no way of reco...

Re: Charging problems
Well after all that kerfuffle it looks like I had two dodgy regulators. Just bought a new one & it all seems to be working fine again.
Cheers Steve, OBG.

Re: Charging problems
Thanks for your help Oldie, I think I'll get a new alternator & see what happens. The brushes were good as the regulator was pretty new. One thing I should mention which I thought irrelevent at the time. Today after I started it and set off, I indicated to pull out, when doing so I heard a click...

Re: Charging problems
Yes I re-did all the earths when I removed the dash a couple of years ago. Cleaned the main crown & replaced connectors.

Re: Charging problems
On the dash end I'm earthing on dashboard. At the alternator I'm earthing on the casing. Can't understand why I only get 11.9v when I'm putting 12V to the blue terminal. Surely that means the alternator is knackered?

Re: Charging problems
Thanks Steve. The first thing I did was replace the regulator so I've ruled that out.
The voltage was 11.8 - 11.9. Earthed on the alternator. The fault has been intermittent, but mostly not working rather than working.
I'm getting around 4 volts on the blue wire right up to the dash connector.

Re: Charging problems
Ok, bit of an old thread this but I've only just got round to having a bash at fixing this. Anyway, I've tested the blue wire at the alternator & I get 4v. When idling I get 12v at the main connector on the alternator and when I connect a 12v wire to the blue wire connector I still only get 12v ...

Re: Windscreen fitting cord.
Did mine with something around 3-4mm & it worked well. Get some KY jelly & smear liberally before you push it home.... Sorry, couldn't resist.
