Re: Syncro Doka metalwork project
Did you manage to buy double cab front bed sections or are you cutting down single cab ones?

Re: Just bought a Westfalia roof....
You have it assembled correctly, you need to put the cushions on to make it lay flat. The two wooden sections/stages should lie flat against each other, if they don't your brackets are probably fouling on themselves. When the roof is down you only fold back the first bed stage, hence why they need t...

Re: Vr6 conversion
Don't be afraid of the immobiliser, use it as an extra level of security. Give the loom to Syncroandy on here and he'll supply you with a work of art. Use the original flywheel and clutch cover along with a bellhousing spacer from an S4, your gearbox will thank you for re-using the DMF. Then you can...

Mann number WK 842/3, then joined the two pipes that go to the valve together with an in line fitting.

Re: AAZ holding back!
I had continual problems until I got rid of that valve and put a different style filter on, been fine for 10k miles.

Re: Vr6 conversion
Wouldn't even consider the vr6, the wide angle Audi v6 is a much easier solution. Sits better in the engine bay, mates up to the bell housing you already have, cheap, available and robust.

Re: Next....slider middle runner
Nice panel, any reason why you couldn't put an extra couple of folds at the top edge and spot weld it in the window aperture, replacing the whole top part of the panel. Also avoids a long continuous weld at the top which is hard to treat the back of.

Re: 1.8Gti Kjet - What would you do?
K-jet runs at a higher pressure than Digifant so you will need a like for like pump, a good one won't be noisy. If you're using the original swirl pot/pump housing from the gti then you should be able to keep your dg tank. The gti has a lift pump inside the main fuel tank but that's because the outl...

Late AAZ pump pulley
Just in the process of assembling an AAZ from a box of bits, it has the late style pulley with no keyway. The pulley has been taken off and of course there's no reference point for it. Is there a way of putting it back on and resetting it or is it a specialist job?

Send it back and get a refund. The proper one is a one piece seal and much nicer.

Re: fitting a westy pop top
Buy the proper moulded seal from Vwbusshop.de and it has the cut outs already there. They have a section missing from the bottom of the seal at both pointy bits at the back of the roof. Let's the seal bend around the sharp points more easily and stops the seal from gathering and stopping the roof si...
