Thanks Euan
To be honest, one with the springy bit would be OK as long as the buckle fitment is the same. Now that I know, I will place a wanted ad!!
Cheers

Do the chrome buckles have a big square hole cut into the end, and are the stalks on a long flat bar ? Just checking as I need a stalk for this type of belt and w...

Early Brake Pads

Hi All
Just a quick question. I understand that early vans can have one of two types of front brake calipers - do they all take the same pads??
Got to change the pads on my 81 Kamper, bu not yet sure which calipers it has and want to be sure I buy the right ones!!
Thanks

Only difference between the 7 and 8 is a slightly different heat range. Basically, you can use either without problems!

I reckon that your heat exchangers might be knackered internally, i.e. letting exhaust gas into the air system.

Thanks guys!
Dave-dont worry, that was what I meant about cutting the wiring-the ignition feed will be very well insulated and the other end at the plug will be connected to the permanent live!
Paul-I can send you copies FOC, but it wont be until after New Year-PM me your address and I will sort it.

Stereo wiring

Hi All This question is actually about my T4, but could also apply to the T25, so hope that is ok! Took out the elderly Blaupunkt and replaced it with a Lidl special head unit/MP3 player. The old one worked with ignition off/keys out. The new one will only work with keys in (A real pain in a ...

Was the electric pump spliced into the line leaving the original mechanical one in place/connected up? (Have seen this before!) If so, the original could well be leaking ! Bypass or remove it.

My 2.4D T4 Karmann Gipsy is no ball of fire, but not that slow either. Depends what you want really-my fuel consumption isnt too bad, despite the heavy coachbuilt body. It is slow uphill, and many gearchanges are needed to keep it going, but VW quoted top speed for the 2.4 van was only 84mph ! Solut...

When I had lighting problems, I traced the earthing "crown" thingy described by Mocki. The connectors were so fragile, I cut them all off and fitted new connectors to all the wires-the electrics have never been so good !
