Re: Recommendations for keeping the T25 outside
Don't put a cover on the van unless it is nice and dry. Obvious really but you want to keep moisture out rather than in!

Re: After market sunroofs
Thanks, will give it a go.
Have found a US company that apparently does kits but know nothing about them.

After market sunroofs
OldiebutGoodie has confirmed that Webasto no longer make aftermarket sunroof kits. Is there anyone still in this business? Has anyone recently fitted a canvas sunroof to some sort of vehicle and if so, what was it? Many years ago I went into the old Citroen garage on Clapham Common and bought the w...

Re: Diesel Heaters
Oh Webasto, where are you now? I wanted to install one of their great fabric sunroofs in another vehicle but understand that manufacture or at least importing to the UK has stopped of all sunroofs has stopped.

Starter Batteries
Is Alpha Batteries still the go to business for starter batteries that fit under the drivers seat (1.9DG...175mm high?) or is there a new flavour of the month?

Oil consumption 1.9 DG
The VW manual states a max consumption of 1.5l per 1000km. Hmmm. This seems an awful lot? Does it take into account the behaviour of the heavy footed van drivers of the '80s? I can't make a direct comparison but our 130,000 mile DG seems to consume around half a pint for every 1000 miles which seem...

Re: Tin top to Pop Top v High Top pros and Cons
Many pop tops hinge on one side or end. There are others that go up horizontally. Some of these have fabric sides, others have solid folding sides with windows in them. We chose the latter because of the better insulation IF EVERYTHING FITS PROPERLY.

Re: Cooling system - overheating
I'm new to this but is the water actually circulation? Sounds like maybe not. Is the thermostat sticking?
I'd take the thermostat out and see what happens without it.
I may well be barking up the wrong tree, if so ignore me.

Having had a good look at the wiper arm springs which of course are part of the equation, 21 and 20" now on their way.
Thanks all.
Thanks all.

Wipers
Very silly question, you would have thought that a 70+ year old would be able to cope with buying new wipers. The wipers on the van are 18". JK sells 18" for a T25. Hella, keen price. BW sells one 21" and one 20" for a T3 as a pair. They say they are bigger (obviously) and better...
