Body panel part numbers
Does anyone know where to find part numbers for body panels? I need an inner rear left panel, and I can only find the right one online. Maybe if I had the part number I'd have better luck.

Re: 15" wheels on a 1.6 jx td
I need to get on the ol' tyre calculator Generally people suggest that you don't increase tyre diameter more than 5% to avoid too much of a performance hit, but obviously a lot depends on how good your engine is. If you went with 215/75 R15 this would represent a diameter increase of around 7.5% ove...

And you've got the same as me? How do you find the flats?

It would go over Saddleworth moor in top.

15" wheels on a 1.6 jx td
Thinking of changing the wheels over to some 15 inchers with some 215 75 15s - as seem to be the popular choice - to take the edge off the revs on the straights, and feel a little more planted to the road. Also just coz they look better, not gonna lie. We've got a 1.6 jx turbo diesel 5 speed, which ...

Re: Westfalia under floor repair suggestions...
Yeah good idea with the router, better than faffing about with a jigsaw. Luckily for me their 4 fairly managable sizes. They look original, and what I don't quite understand is why they used this fibre board stuff to go around the area where the waste water goes out, and the heater ducts come in. It...

Fitting hens teeth to the rear
Looking to fit the above to the back of the van instead of a tailgate, as I reckon they'll be easier to find! Finding a good quality tailgate is hard. I'm starting to think maybe impossible. You can replace every panel, swap an engine, even get a new westy brown cup holder, but a tailgate - no chanc...

Westfalia under floor repair suggestions...
While our Westy van spends a little time getting some much needed repair work done at the garage, we've completely stripped out the inside. Most of the camping interior is in good to perfect condition, amazingly, but the underfloor looks a little unloved. These are the boards that sit under the rock...

Re: Finding the right awning
Good point about the poles, that's one thing I hated about our tent. Cool I'll take a closer look at those. I was also looking at one of those Quechua pop up shelters, but give gotta fight them to pack up. So what's the general feeling between an attached roll up awning and a drive away awning? Sent...

Finding the right awning
Looking for an awning for our van I thought would be an easy choice, in fact I thought we'd just get the ARB roll out awning and that'll be that. However, as the missus pointed out, if you want to go anywhere for the day you have to pack it away, and put everything back in the van. The thing is I pr...

Re: Time to change the gearbox oil?
I think from memory Aidan wrote VW say the gearbox oil will last the lifetime of the vehicle, 10 years, and then you're expected to get a T4. Otherwise regularly changing the oil, every 3 years, is recommended. Ok I need to change the oil, cheers for the help guys appreciate it. Sent from my F5321 u...

Time to change the gearbox oil?
Not had our van long, so I have no idea when the gearbox oil was done if at all. So I've probably answered my own question here, and I'll just change it so I know it's done. However, I've noticed with the colder weather 2nd is getting a little tricky when cold. After about 5 minutes it's all good. I...
