Hi, I want to get my engine and carb tuned does anyone know anywhere in the midlands (I’m in Derby) that could do it? I’ve done a basic tune myself but it needs a specialist I think. I have a 1980 Aircooled 2.0l with a Weber (empi) carb Thank you

Re: Fuel starvation?
Is that an injection setup? Sounds like air intake or blocked carb to me? Worth checking fuel pump to. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Thanks Da Dan, I tried spraying to clean carb and think this may have been the issue as it’s improved massively. I changed the fuel tank a while back and maybe s...

Fuel starvation?
I have recently been having an issue with my 2.0cu air cooled engine. It’s been standing for a while but has been started regularly. The issue is that it will start and idle but as soon as I put my foot down it dies down and will cut out unless I lift my foot again. I have replaced plugs and distrib...

Petrol / Diesel tank are they the same?
Are the fuel tanks the same? On the Brickwerks site and others the fuel tank is not specified as either. If I bought a used diesel tank could I clean it and use it on a petrol van?
My van is a 2.0l CU early petrol air cooled van 1981

Re: Petrol tank replacement (Early 1981 Aircooled)
Thanks Guys.
If so Ive seen a secondhand complete tank from a 1984 water cooled petrol van that has all pipes and sender unit attached. Would this fit?
would this be the 48mm filler version?replace the filler neck with a plastic one and use the later tank

Petrol tank replacement (Early 1981 Aircooled)
My van has had a petrol leak for over a year. I found out via the forum that this is common if it’s filled to the top so for the last year I’ve only filled it half full. That was fine (though a pain as the fuel gage is also inaccurate and has led to running out of petrol a few times) until a trip to...

Re: Awning fittings
I have bought a screw on rail which looks like it will go on just above the gutter. The problem is I am not keen on drilling straight into the roof and thought that there might be an option that screws into the rain gutter. I saw the comments about a pole and clamp but am not sure how this would wor...

Re: New to this and need help.
Thank you. Thats really helpful. I found the whole tyre thing quite a maze. I’ll check the hoses and tyres. It’s due for its next MOT tomorrow and the spare needs changing. Otherwise everything seems OK (fingers crossed) I drove from Derby to Hamburg and back in the summer with no problems. Thanks f...

Hi,
I have standard wheels on my 1981 Aircooled tin top. On the wall it says 185 R14C. All the tyres are OK but the spare is bald and I have been offered a new Conveo 185/75r 14C does anyone know if this will fit?
