Re: No brakes...........

Had these exact same symptoms. I (over)adjusted the rear brakes before MOT. It was mentioned as an advisory-nearside rear brake binding. First long run since MOT resulted in an interesting moment on the motorway when I needed a double pump to slow down (needed a new pair of boxers too)! No problems ...

Re: Alternator issues

I think I've found the short anyway which is a relief.

Will have to protect the new cables a bit more when rewiring.

Re: Alternator issues

Quick question before I start wiring. On the coil, which is terminal 1 and which is terminal 15?

Re: Alternator issues

Going to rewire it with new relay. Hopefully that'll sort it. Otherwise it's probably a faulty pump.

Re: Alternator issues

Thought my fuel pump issues were solved! Broke down on way to campsite on south coast on Friday. Luckily it was about 300m from Motorline Engineering in Firle who got me back up and running. The fuse (7.5A) to the fuel pump had blown. Anyway, got as far as the Norman's Bay campsite (lovely campsite ...

Fuel tank volume and fuel consumption

Just wondering what kind of fuel consumption you guys are getting? I have a 2.0l air-cooled and am averaging 19mpg. I recently installed an electric fuel pump and it was pretty much the same as that before I installed it. Does anyone know the capacity of the fuel tank on that model? My fuel guage sh...

Re: Alternator issues

Got the fuel pump off, push rod was 5 mm short. Decided to install electric fuel pump and replace all the fuel lines while I was at it. (Thanks to advice on threads re: electric fuel pump). Van running well now, just back from half term trip to Holland and Belgium fully loaded with wife, 2 kids and ...

Re: Alternator issues

Thread resurrection Hopefully going to have some time to get under the van this weekend. I had a quick look just to see where the fuel pump was and how awkward it is to get to. It looks like there's an oil leak coming from around the pump. Do you reckon this could cause the fuel pump to malfunction ...

Re: Alternator issues

Yeah. Pump, push-rod and filter will be the first things I check. I really don't want to have to start fiddling with the carbs if I don't have to.

Thanks.
