Re: Sudden Loss of Oil Pressure

Hiya, should clarify, it's definitely not a DOPS system. The two switches that failed were: 1- a VDO switch I had installed in preparation to put in an oil pressure gauge but never got round to putting guage in :/ perhaps that's a sender because it actually sends a variable voltage to the guage? I d...

Re: Sudden Loss of Oil Pressure

Thanks for all the excellent advice. 1- turns out my faith in my electrical reconnection was sub par. Systematic troubleshooting as advised revealed incorrect wiring, and not one, but two fault pressure senders. Seeking replacements and will report back. 2- I will follow the advice on priming the fi...

Re: Sudden Loss of Oil Pressure

Thanks for the gauge link and the advice Mr Itchy! :ok When it comes to checking oil pressure with gauge while running engine, how long would you suggest I run the engine for? I'm naturally jittery about the potential to cause damage or does the fact that the engine will be run at quite low load mea...

Sudden Loss of Oil Pressure

Hi Fellow mechanical horse whisperers, Working to diagnose the sudden and complete lack of oil pressure in my engine and would appreciate some input from someone more learned than me. Re: Roof bars/box on pop top - Ideas

Hmmm .. Maybe I haven't considered towbar/tailgate mounted options enough because the roof box was given to me.

It's quite a big roof box itchyfeet. Have you done this? What rack and box combo do you use?

Re: JP Group Exhaust Component Quality?

Hi all, Just wanted to say thanks for all the feedback and to report back as I heard from the supplier (Brickwerks). It turns out that the join between the smaller tubing (exhaust) and the larger tubing (heat exchanger) is designed not to be air tight so air can be sucked in to supply air as part of...

Re: JP Group Exhaust Component Quality?

Thanks Rob and Simon,

The return is always an option, although in terms of time then sealing it may be the better option. It's a very rigid welded joint anyway so unlikely to cause trouble.

Re: JP Group Exhaust Component Quality?

Thanks!

Yes it's early exhaust system. I'm wondering whether to send back to supplier and ask for replacement or patch with gun gum. Second option feels wrong for a new component

JP Group Exhaust Component Quality?

Are the joins in the driver's side (RHD) exhaust heat exchanger of the exhaust meant to be air tight? Received a brand new heat exchanger and the joints between the tubing and the Larger part of the component is Leaky. Thought I'd check if this is normal before mithering the supplier. Cheers! P.s. t...

Is there a difference between late vs early anti roll bar?

Replacing a snapped ARB drop link and thinking to change the ARB because the ends seem quite corroded (will upload pic when I have it off the van. So, what I'd like to know is 1- is there a difference between early and late ARB? I know there's a difference in drop link design. 2- Is it important to ...
