Valve springs
Im replacing the valve springs on my 1.9dg, is it ok to swap inner and outer springs on my head to a single heavy duty set? What's the difference? And why two sets? Is the engine less responsive with a single heavy duty set of springs?

Re: 1.9 DG bogging down under demand peirburg2e3
I sent my pierburg to Bromsgrove to be refurbed, it was not cheap but the carb is 100 times better than before, more responsive and more fuel efficient. I would recommend them.

Cylinder head advice wanted
Morning all I have black wet soot coming out of my exhaust pipe, coupled with a coolant loss. I don't have milky oil, so I have so far diagnosed a head gasket between water jacket and cylinder. Does that sound reasonable? The water stops spouting after a few minutes, which I take to be the cylinder ...

Where is the T-piece in the windscreen washer piping
Bugger: Just had the lower front windscreen welded and the RHS windscreen squirter (on a LHD van) no longer works, took the jets off and NO HOSE. it was a bit short anyway, I think it has just come away during work. So now I have the dash pod off, under dash shelves out and legs up in the air trying...

DJ heads on a DG engine
Is this possible? I have an option on a DG block and a set of DJ heads, I was thinking of marrying them up? ALL the part numbers seem to tally, is it a different cylinder barrel length that gives the extra CC?

Sliding door wiring
I have a brown 12v live wire hanging in the forward sliding door post that connects to a light. Does anyone know where the other end connects to? I can track it to the top of the.pilllar but I don't want to drop the headlining unless I have to. There is no courtesy light on the sliding door side, do...

Re: Fuel tank structure
Thanks for the reply, couldn't find it but it turns out it was pipes not tank. This turned out to be a small flap had formed in a rubber hoses when the PO had pushed in the hard line, it eventually got weak enough that it closed the fuel off at full flow. New lines all round and problem solved

Re: 1.9 DG won't run on idle
Sent it to Bromyard for a refurb. She would struggle to do 55mph, today I hit 75 and there was more available(in my defence, I have a kph speedo and didn't believe my mental maths, having never been up that end before). I stopped accelerating because even with new shocks and springs, she felt a bit ...

Fuel tank structure
Anyone know how the tubes inside the tank are routed? I have an intermittent blockage that stops fuel flowing, I'm trying to work out what's happening.
Thanks

DG cuts out over 40mph
Hi All I am trying to diagnose a new issue. Got the van running nicely and then sent the carb to browser.to be cleaned, took the opportunity to flush out the tank too. Recorded everything and took the van the John galley to be set up. It runs beautifully all day up to 30mph, beyond that it will coug...

1.9 DG Engine cuts out when warm
Hi This problem is driving me mad. Doris has been in the garage for weeks now, but it looks like shes coming back unsorted. She will run for five minutes or so, and then cut out. Fuel delivery is good (pump and tank have been checked, no rust in the system), spark is good, compression is fine, the c...
