Re: Oil leak between engine and gearbox
Thanks for your reply. I think I most probably did change the o ring seal but I do have a slight bit of doubt, I definitely changed the felt ring. I have read about the groove that can appear in the fly wheel. engine had done 80,000 miles (I think) but I think this is most probably whats causing the...

Re: Oil leak between engine and gearbox
I've just had a thought that I can't remember replacing the ring seal on the fly wheel itself.
Do all vans have this seal and if so would it leak oil if it were missing or perished?

Oil leak between engine and gearbox
Hi, my van had its first drive after an engine rebuild. I've noticed a slight oil leak which seems to be coming from the bell housing. I replaced all the seals on the rebuild so have no idea what has happened, I may have put a touch to much oil in but not sure if this would cause a problem? There di...

Soft pedal after clutch bleeding
Hello, I have just fitted a new clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder to my van. Fitting went relatively well although fiddly. Only problem I have is the pedal feels to soft or not enough resistance. The clutch itself is brand new and the whole van hasn't been on the road since rebuild so all cl...

Sliding door Buffer
Hi, I have searched but not found much info, I seem to be missing the plastic buffer thing out of my door slider, I think this might be what is causing my door to not close occasionally and just bounce back? Does anyone know where I can get this part in the UK or maybe 3d printed? I know I can get i...

Re: No Brakes! pedal goes straight to floor
Well.... I fitted the new switches only to find I still had a slight leak around the switch. on closer inspection I could see a hair line crack so I obviously decided to remove the new MC to look closer at what had caused it to crack and when removing the switches the thread literally split in half....

Re: No Brakes! pedal goes straight to floor
Thanks for your replies, I skipped the bench prime and just fitted and filled as I plan on bleeding the whole system anyway. however I left it overnight and have just looked this morning to find a few drips of fluid. it seems its leaking from the one of the brake switches, but actually through the s...

Re: No Brakes! pedal goes straight to floor
Thanks for your replies. Im going to look into this a bit more in depth tomorrow but I have a replacement master cylinder, I remember reading somewhere online about bench bleeding the master cylinder before fitting. is this necessary?

No Brakes! pedal goes straight to floor
Hi, My van has just randomly decided to not have any brakes, the pedal goes straight to the floor with no resistance at all. The van isnt on the road yet and is only ever moved back and forth on my drive so the brakes havent really been under any pressure so im not really sure whats happened. Fluid ...

Re: Smells of fuel but no visible fuel leak. Help please
I Have exactly this problem too, I replaced every seal on the tank and all the breather pipes, even the valves on top of the breather tanks but I still get a slight wiff of petrol now and then. although I have never fully filled my tank yet as the van is permanently parked while being rebuilt. howev...

Re: Glued on carpet removal
I have recently done exactly this job it takes time but I removed all the rubber mat's from the van then scrubbed them with a stiff brush and acetone. The acetone didn't seem to effect the rubber at all but did remove the glue. They cleaned up really well, I also dyed them with a black rubber and ca...

Re: Split charge relay wire
I seem to have basically the same set up as diagram 3 on the link you provided, except connected to 86 on the relay is a green wire that comes form behind the van fuse box somewhere. the green wire definitely becomes live as soon as ignition is on but disconnects when engine is turning (load reducti...
