Re: Coolant leak Thermostat/Temp sensor
Excellent. Last question. When I take the sensor out would I expect coolant to pour out?

Re: Coolant leak Thermostat/Temp sensor
Thank you all for your replies. I reckon the main messages are . . . no radweld in this case, and, try to get the sensor out and replace the seal. Bit of a bugger to get to. Is this the sensor that reads out on the cab temp gauge or some other function? Cheers, Rich D. DG 1.9 water cooled, Holdswort...

Coolant leak Thermostat/Temp sensor
Hello, I've got a small coolant leak at or near the temperature sensor that sits by the thermostat. It looks quite difficult to remove the sensor. Has anyone successfully used something like radweld in a 1.9 DG engine?

Re: Thermostat bleed screw
Kev, I forgot to thank you for your advice, so, thanks, appreciated. I think I will go for the coolant at the end of this season.

Re: Thermostat bleed screw
Many thanks for that, Kev. At least I should be able to get over 1/2 the total volume out. Subsequently I will follow your post of 9th April. Quick question . . . is the G12 coolant you use the same as either the blue, or the purple stuff from e.g Just Kampers. . . . no worries if you don't get it f...

Re: Thermostat bleed screw
Just read the advice on draining coolant. I have a similar query. If you drain the coolant by detaching a lower engine hose, do you recall how much you get out? In my manual it says there's 17.5 litres (to get out, for the full coolant swap).

Re: Windscreen fitting company T25
Good points. The insurance company have given the number for their fitting centre, so I'll call them to try to co-ordinate with a new seal.

Windscreen fitting company T25
Hello all, hope you can help. I need to get a new windscreen fitted to my T25, 1989. Do any of you have experience of a company they'd recommend do it? I'm in Letchworth, North Herts.

Re: Stripped sump plug hole
No, not far from there.
I have had a place in Henlow, C and F Motors, recommended to me, that's quite near, so will try there.

Re: Stripped sump plug hole
Thanks again, it seems a M14x1.5 helicoil is a good solution. Do you know anywhere around Herts/Beds/Cambs that can fit one of these? Or are they really simple to fit into the existing stripped threads?

Thanks for your replies. It's a 1.9 petrol DG engine.
Do you think that rethreading at M15 will be an ineffective remedy?

Stripped sump plug hole
Hello, I Hope you can help. We’ve stripped the sump plug on our T25. It’s M14.
A garage local to us has suggested re-tapping at M15 and fitting an M15 plug and seal. If this doesn’t work they suggest going to M17.
Given your experience, is this the approach that you would use?
