Re: Failed MOT - rear seat belts

From Wikipedia:

Rear seat belts became compulsory equipment in 1986. It became compulsory for children aged 14 and under to wear a seatbelt in the rear in 1989, and for all adults to wear a seatbelt in the back of a car in 1991.

Re: New to the T25

If it a 1.9DG like mine with an automatic choke, when it has been standing for a week or two it can take ages to start. I assume the fuel evaporates out of the carb and the little mechanical pump has its work cut out to refill it from the tank at the front!  With the automatic choke, you are suppose...

Scrub that. I just read on a TVR blog that he has sadly died in 2021!

Re: After market sunroofs

That is a shame. It used to be The Trimming Centre, Lewes. I emailed about a roof for my Rover P6 a few years ago but never did anything about it. Their Facebook page says permanently closed for about two years. My email reply came from Steve Camp who was the owner at the time. He can be found on Fa...

My guess is its lack of use, with a slow drain.

How long did the batteries last before they died?

Re: Newby power steering question

Fitted this and never looked back! It requires no mods, just a bolt on kit and automatically varies assistance with load.

Re: Interior electrics

When I took the complete interior out of my van I totally rewired it. The original wiring done by Devon was just appalling. As they joked, the wiring was done by the finest carpenter they had!!

Re: Replacing Camper Floor

I used B&Q carpet tiles and spray adhesive. Absolutely brilliant. They are virtually wear and stain resistant and are easily cut to fit. If they get damaged, just pull up the damaged ones and replace them. Cheap too!! I have had a dog, wet muddy boots, and teenagers to their best to destroy the ...

Re: High top removal

The picture above is my van. You can see a lot from the inside, but the rust is where the fiberglass side sits very closely to the metal roof. Mine looked fine inside and it was quite a shock when I lifted the roof!!

cobblers wrote: 26 Jun 2023, 15:03 In summer, expect a compressor fridge to run for a couple of days on a 90AH leisure battery. Double that in winter.

Is that right? I thought these compressor fridges hardly used any leisure battery power and would run for weeks? A couple of days doesn't even do a weekend break without EHU??

Re: Engine Bay Split and Leaking Fuel Pipe

Do you know if the new hose is any good ?  It could be poor quality . How can you tell? It came from a good source and it has all the correct stamps and identity markings on it. It is basically a piece of black rubber tube so I am not sure how you would know if it is a dodgy knock offor not? Even s...

Re: Engine Bay Split and Leaking Fuel Pipe

It is a date stamp, the hose that Brickwerks sell is good stuff, it may seem expensive but its worth it, some of the hoses out there are very poor quality, i bought some fuel injection hose locally and was splitting after 2 years, good hose  should last way longer. It does certainly look like a dat...

Re: Engine Bay Split and Leaking Fuel Pipe

I think it is a code or part number but not a date. I fitted the hose myself only a few years ago and it was new hose then. As I understand it, up to 5% ethanol doesn't really cause much of an issue, hence why up until the introduction of E10, it wasn't much of a talking point.
