Re: To WBX or Not?
Greetings Guys. Indeed I have 'not' ever tested any of our builds, so I don't know the figures, but I can speak from driving experience and there is a big difference to the 2.1wbx's indeed. For me, that says it all. As I've said extensively, the feel and behavior of the 2.45 wbx is completely differ...

Re: To WBX or Not?
Welll, to answer your questions, true, the kit is actually 2.45 indeed. There are also NO instructions given at all, we made our own blue prints, so it's rather easy once you've mastered the first one. We do not advise the DIY guys to do this job, but in all honesty, once sorted, it's extremely easy...

To WBX or Not?
Greetings Engine Swappers. I am sorry, but I just can't resist... Before you throw away that gorgeous WBX, have you considered the 'plug and play' Go-Westy WBX 2.5 conversion? Have any of you actually build this?, or am I alone around here. Anyway, 2 years back, we started building them. We haven't ...

Re: Syncropendence 2017
Greetings. Just wanted to book in for the Event. I'll be there after a day or so spannering in gearbox land. For the event, my T3 is a 1990 2.5 WBX Sycro. It's Blue and has 3 knobs with pretty green warning lights in the dash. No idea what to do with them, but when you pull them all out, everything ...

Re: PetenAli's WBX 2500 engine build
I'm just admiring your build. Looks very smart... But I must add........ Are you going to use those old VW Clamp Hose Clips? Hope you are going to clean up those double pipes that feed over the clutch housing. Finishing touches are what makes a job 'done'. Doing a bit of transplanting over here this...

Re: PetenAli's WBX 2500 engine build
http://forum.club8090.co.uk/download/file.php?id=5919 Is that the standard carb from a 1.9? Has it been rejetted to suit the bigger capacity? Do you know how the performance of the engine compares to one with fuel injection? Oooops and sorry. This was a library picture purely for the looks. We can'...

Re: PetenAli's WBX 2500 engine build
you can buy those cheeky stickers in Germany. They read WBX-2.1i, but we are going to have some new ones made, WBX-2.5i (just for fun!).
I'm off now, See you.

Re: PetenAli's WBX 2500 engine build
Thank you! At last some sensible remarks. I know you are the man 'who' knows. Your reputation is over here too! lol. I'm VERY excited about the new production, owning 6 T3's myself, having a T3 Garage specialising in WBX & Gearboxes. (no problem, Aidan is a long way away from me) ((pity)). :) Ou...

Re: PetenAli's WBX 2500 engine build
Sure, everyone has a choice. Before I go into specs, this is a general point. We are producing in numbers a 'keep it simple' proven 2.5 wbx engine. It's been on the production line now for 8 years and in very large numbers. Because I'm a serious engineer like some of you, I went to the US to check i...

Re: PetenAli's WBX 2500 engine build
PS. Just so everyone is clear. This is a total 'plug & play' upgrade. No mods are needed, a few can be nice, but only for the enthusiasts who likes a bit of bling. We take your average 2.1, 2 x 4 or 4 x 4, revise the engine to our version of the 2.5wbx and drive away two weeks later without a pr...

Re: PetenAli's WBX 2500 engine build
If you want to try out the WBX 2.5, we have a few built in Amsterdam. Several orders on the assembly, we are going into production on a slightly bigger scale now, having sorted out the blueprints. USA, DE, UK and NL parts, we've got it sorted, totally. What a fabulous engine!. You can test drive it ...

Re: Fitting engine with gearbox or without
We have a method that seems to work. If you have access to a lift/ramp, this is how we do it. We put the engine and gearbox together on a big table with wheels. Put the van up on the ramp and wheel both engine and gearbox under the van into position. With one above, and one on the up-down switch, we...
