cheers for the replies i will look at the part number . looks pretty simple just to make one will probably buy a new rubber strip as the old one has perished

how the window works

drivers side window is not opening when i roll down mechanism . took card of and noticed it had fell apart due to corrosion , the mechanism is fine its just the rubber that sits on the window and the bracket on the regulator , i was looking for replacement but i cant see one so i was going to try an...

problem solved with van , turned out it was the starter motor had given up. put a new starter in the van last week and it has been starting without any problems . will need to get another few days away sorted , thanks fr all the help again , it was appreciated

been cutting back the wire , fair amount of it looks perished . is there anywhere specific that people buy the wire from , need to replace a fair bit by the looks of it

Funnily enough I went out earlier to pack a few things away and I was looking at that wire from the connector and there is a split about 3 inches from connection and wires look dirty. Will get another look tomorrow before I set of

hi itchy feet yes i tried the wiring using the pictures you sent me but it didnt work , i had already ordered switch by that point. i tried earlier to start it using screwdriver in the new one but it didnt work either , i can start the van direct from starter. so i am guessing its a loose connection...

Ignition switch

Wondering . Before I take steering wheel of and change ignition switch .I can connect it to the wire directly and move the switch . Is it OK / possible to check the ignition switch works and the older one is the cause of the problem before I take wheel of

Thanks for the offer. I am going to head down on Friday and get the van back closer to home. A freind is coming to meet me in case I need a hand with something . I should/ hope I can get it home . Will contact you if needed. Thanks for the offer of help .

thanks again for the offers of help. i will start heading south on friday from scourie , i will try to wire it again tomorrow with heavier cable , i have aa and they can get me to a mechanics is ullapool if needed , if i can get it started ok i will make a run for straight home , live near loch lomo...

that was what i was trying . i wonder if the problem i am having is r the cable is not getting a good enough connection like you have in photograph. i dnt have spade connectors with me. or the cable is not heavy enough ,

just tried it and all i got was a small spark from the wire . nothing came from the solenoid or the starter motor . i believe i can here a click coming from the relay in the engine bay thats in the black box at the left hand rear, not sure what that tells
