Re: Mega creaking noise - front somewhere

Ignore this if you've already checked but could it be the spare carrier? Try without the weight of the spare?

Re: Sliding door

Hi, I've just removed mine after reading a thread but can't find it to link to this. Fwiw there is a notch in the main rail (about halfway), the main hinge/runner (rear of the door) just lifts out. I removed the cover first but someone said this wasn't strictly necessary (?). You then slide the door...

Re: Late/early diesel engine mounts

Thanks Cecil, my other van's a late diesel but parked elsewhere so I couldn't compare to the wbx. A diesel up on ebay made me think a transplant might be an option..

Re: Late/early diesel engine mounts

Thanks Cecil, re read my question and I' not sure it explains what I meant. Would the later engine bay still have the mounting points for the early diesel set up if I was converting to diesel? You maybe realised what I meant however badly framed....

Late/early diesel engine mounts

Hi will the diesel engine mounts from an 82 bus (currently supporting an AEF) be compatible with an 89 WBX. Thinking of a transplant but have read comments on here about 'early' and 'late' engine mounts?

Re: 5 speed box finding reverse

Cheers Davidoft, tried again and found it with the 'hard over' advice. Totally forgotten the routine, you'd think having had several of them, including an RHD which was fitted with an LHD gearstick, you'd never forget...Not sure what this means about the clutch after apparently ten years stood in a ...

5 speed box finding reverse

Can anyone spare a minute to answer a daft question? I've been trying to find reverse on an 89 dg five speed van that's been stood for years according to the seller and the state of it. Engine's tuning over ok and while I'm sorting out the poor electrics I thought I'd try the clutch and slave etc. I...

Re: Gearbox codes

Thanks Aidan, you're absolutely spot on. More wire brushing today revealed a worn 'A'. I'm still not sure if that's an 'M' rather than an 'N' but the list I've found said 'ABM' gearboxes had an LSD? The van was a service hack for 'Jungheinrich' in the 90s, I can still make out the faded lettering. T...

Hi, better leave me to it, now it looks more like '3P' so better specs will save anyone wasting their time.

Gearbox codes

Hi, can anyone shed some light on a possible gearbox swap. I bought a 1989 dg engined 5 speed panel van to use as a donor for my jx engined camper and was given advice re input shaft . The gearbox code from the diesel is 3H 1405 7 I think but the dg one is 6ND7 029 as far as I can tell and I haven't...

Thanks Carrera, just trying to remove the old fuel lines to bypass them (the outlet on the tank has rotted). Just petrol not an easy start type of thing?

Re: Seized dg?

Not sure if this should be a new topic, but after getting the plugs out I didn't have a socket to fit the crank pulley. I tried the pulley on the off chance to see if there was any movement and it turned by hand with very little effort. The plugs from the left hand (looking from the rear) cylinders ...
