bleedin clutch
hi there. I finished changing a brake caliper over (an advisory from a recent garage visit) and flushed new fluid through all the brakes using a Gunson Eezibleed pressure thingy. I thought I could do the clutch fluid at the same time. Found/opened the nipple - but no sign of any fluid at all coming ...

Alternator not charging - wiring at starter?
Hi, We're out camping and battery was flat on arrival. Luckily now recharged from solar panel, but not charging when running (<13v at battery when running). Alternator and belt visually ok and high voltages at terminals. I found a broken connection at starter though (pic) - would this cause the issu...

Re: Replacing Buzzing Black Box
My bbb was dead when I bought the van - replaced it with the Ctek 7 amp charger which does the job well when on hookup. As above anything "camping" is connected to the leisure battery and the Ctek charges the leisure only - no real need to charge the starter battery while camping as it's n...

Re: Fridge fan
But the OP isn't just changing the fan. How is the 12v circuit controlled when the fridge isn't being used? If purely connected to 12v it will be on nearly constantly in the summer even if not being used. Good point but I don't think there is anything breaking the circuit when the fridge is not in ...

Re: Fridge fan
The original fan on ours is switched by a thermostat attached to the back, which stays connected to the 12v circuit even when on gas. I would think you could keep this arrangement when changing the fan.

Re: Removing and blanking off mechanical fuel pump
Just wrapping this up since I got round to doing this job last night. It was a bit fiddly, and not too pleasant lying in the gutter of a London street to do it - but there we go - oh for a driveway! I cut out some gasket paper to make the seal as suggested above (thanks!). Job went generally ok - bu...

tobydog and Steve - thanks for the tips. I will have a go - pushrod out, DIY gasket in, as you suggest. Cheers!

Removing and blanking off mechanical fuel pump
Hi folks, I have an oil leak coming from my old mechanical fuel pump (2L Aircooled engine). The fuel pump is redundant as there is an electric one fitted. So it seems like a good solution would be to remove the old pump. I have picked up a blanking plate that seems suitable (http://www.justkampers.c...

Re: Fridge flame status indicator - a little electronics projec
Nice work! My indicator lamp never worked and I recently swapped out the LED control board from Go Westy. That solved the problem but I also upgraded my igniter to an electronic one that allows you to add an LED to show that the igniter is firing and stays lit once the flame is going. Not my mod bu...
