The dangers of being an aerospace engineer!
I don’t want to drill the floor of the holes aren’t already there to be honest.
That’s why I’ve been trying to find if the mounting holes are there anyway

Re: Under-slung gas install
Cheers Tommy. I wanted to see if the bolts went up through the floor or picked up on the chassis rails (or brackets attached to them). If I don’t have holes already in my floor I think I will sort some L-brackets that can bolt to the chassis rails and then pick up on the ‘feet’ on the tank. If I hav...

Re: Under-slung gas install
My van isn't running a waster water tank. I'm going to get underneath it and take a look, I too had assumed that the mounts would be there on all Westies. I've asked on the FB groups to see if anyone has got any snaps of the mounting area. I had assumed that the tank would have mounted to the chassi...

Re: Under-slung gas install
Hey Bud.
Did you get your tank fitted?
I've just bought a Westy tank and I'm looking for some tips on getting it fitted to my Bus.

More fridge queries
I’ve got a 91 Westie Vanagon GL Had it a few months now and I’ve not been able to light the fridge. Whipped it out this afternoon. Found a dodgy connection on the Piezo, which I sorted. Not convinced the air pump is moving much air and would like to get a rebuild kit. If possible I’d like to replace...

Re: BMW 16" Steelies
If the wheels have a larger centre bore just source some spigot rings to reduce the inner dia to that of the hub. You can get plastic ones, or get a local machine shop to knock some up for you. That's what I did years ago when I wanted to fit a pair of alloys from my wifes Golf to her Megane coupe. ...

Dunno. I only changed one side to see how it looked. Didn't like it so changed it back.

Re: Changing Porka rims
I got the 928 wheels. They gad extra load tyres on, but unfortunately when I fitted them the arch gap was enormous, and the van, quite frankly looked ridiculous! It needs lowering another 2inches, maybe more. And that's one of the reasons I flogged my T2a, I had to plan how to get places because it ...

Load ratings etc is something I will also be checking.
First job is to see if it will theoretically get me to the overall vehicle height I'm after.

Re: Changing Porka rims
Yeah I get that dropping an inch will only actually give me 1/2" drop. I am pretty sure though I will pick up the other 1/2" in tyre wall as the profile is higher, and the overall tyre is slightly wider than those I plan to fit. I have adaptors so the rims will be spaced. I may go back to ...

Yes, I have the adaptors already as I'm running the 5x130 17" Porsche Cayenne alloy wheels.

Changing Porka rims
Hi Folks. I currently have a set of 17" Cayenne Alloys ( I can't recall the tyre sizes) on my van, and I am literally a gnats chuff away from being able to get the van in my garage. I currently have -50mm springs on there and the van rides lovely, but I do need an extra inch (maybe more if I ca...

Westfalia Skylight Blackout blinds wanted
My Westie has got some manky bits of Velcro that barely hang off the lining now to attach the flynet.
I've had a look around and can't find any blackout blind kits anywhere.
I did see a thread on here but it is around six years old now.

Re: Flashing temp light but gauge ok
I went and got the van from the unit where it's currently being stored (builders and their bloody scaffolding means I can't get my van even on the drive, let alone in the garage) and brought it home on Friday. As I expected, the blinky red light was well, blinky. I've got the new coolant level sende...
